This legislation’s reintroduction coincides with the federal government’s recent decision to remove significant moments in American history that highlight the contributions and impact of African Americans from its national parks and government websites for the past year. The legislators will be joined by members of the African American & Jewish Friendship Group to share their testimonies on the importance of preserving and teaching African American history as an integral part of the American narrative. This legislation would require that African-American history is taught through all K-12 schools within the state of Wisconsin.
