#LocalGovMatters – LOVE Wisconsin

This week, Gwyn is joined by Jet Waller and Megan Monday, the Co-Founders of Love Wisconsin, a story-telling media group telling uniquely Wisconsin stories.

The three start off the podcast by talking about Love Wisconsin – how it got started, what it is doing now, and where it’s going in the future.

In the second portion of the podcast Gwyn asks Jet and Megan to talk about some specific stories they have covered on Love Wisconsin.  One story is about an African-American woman living in Oshkosh who is pulled over by police while driving to a graduation party.  The incident started a conversation between the African-American Community in Oshkosh and the Oshkosh Police.

Gwyn closes out the podcast by asking Jet and Megan to talk about how people become involved in Love Wisconsin, how to contact them, how to submit story ideas, etc.

Gwyn asked about this project and similar projects in other states – Jet and Megan said “Humans of New York” was similar, but it focuses on the individuals, while Love Wisconsin focuses on the individuals and the culture that is truly Wisconsin. The ladies said there is a “Humans of Oshkosh.”

Jet and Megan are releasing a book about Love Wisconsin.  Make sure to stop by the Wisconsin Historical Society on Oct. 13 for the book launch!!!!
