Wisconsin Capitol Kicks off Centennial Celebration

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the re-opening of the Wisconsin State Capitol, and the 100th Anniversary State Capitol Commemorative Commission has activities planned for the entire year to celebrate. Today, a kick-off celebration was held in the capitol rotunda.  In attendance:

  • Gov. Scott Walker and First Lady Tonette Walker
  • Former Governors: Tommy G. Thompson, Scott McCallum and Tony Earl
  • Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch
  • WI Supreme Court Justices
  • WI Agency Secretaries
  • Wisconsin Legislators

The kick-off celebration marks the beginning of a Wisconsin Historical Society exhibit, ‘A Century of Stories – Celebrating 100 years at the Capitol.” The exhibit is located on the ground floor of the Capitol and is open to the public.  The exhibit will be present throughout the year.
